Is there any such thing?

Empire magazine has rated the worst sex scenes in movie history, and the winner comes from the movie “Showgirls”. Their assessment of the scene awarded the prize goes like this:

Empire film magazine named a scene in which Berkley and MacLachlan couple energetically in a swimming pool as the worst sex scene of the many hundreds it surveyed.

“It’s supposed to be the best sex in the world but, as Berkley thrashes around in the water, it looks more like the first 10 minutes of Jaws,” said the British-based magazine.

I’ve never seen this movie, having always believed from reviews when it was released that it was complete crap. I am not inclinded to change this view.

The Affleck/J-Lo debacle “Gigli” gets a mention that I liked:

“Unfeasibly bad, the pair, while sexy as hell on their own, together here couldn’t generate enough heat to toast bread,”

Yet another contender was this one with Heather Graham and Ralph Fiennes in “Killing Me Softly”):

Obviously the judges did not look at any porn movies, as the sex in these is more often than not seriously bad! (Not that I’d know).
