Tsunami remembered - a year on

Today marks the first anniversary of the Boxing day 2004 tsunami, which devastated vast areas of southern Asia and killed more than 200,000 people. Remembrance services all over the world marked the anniversary.

I watched a show about the tsunami on ABC TV tonight, and found it very sobering, even a year after the event. Such a massive loss of life, and its impact on many many others that survived, its almost beyond comprehension. One thing positive about it is that the world, including Australia, did come to the aid of the affected countries pretty well once the scale of the disaster was realised.
