Hard to argue with John Howard’s comments on radical Moslems
Howard said that there is a small section of the Islamic population here that because of its views on jihad and the position of women, is a problem. Other comments he made included:
“We want people when they come to Australia to adopt Australians ways.
“We don’t ask them to forget the countries of their birth, we respect all religious points of views and people are entitled to practise them but there are certainly things that are not part of the Australian mainstream.”
“There is within some sections of the Islamic community an attitude towards women which is out of line with mainstream Australian society,” he said.
“It needs to be dealt with by the broader community, including Islamic Australia.
“There is really not much point in pretending it doesn’t exist.”
All fair enough in my view. I’m positive the vast majority of Moslems in Australia are decent, reasonable people, but there is too much of a noisy minority who paint an appalling picture, for example expressing views that violent jihad is a good thing and the attitudes to women such as those portayed in the various gang rape cases in Sydney over the past 5 years or so. It is this noisy group that needs serious attitude adjustment to fit in with mainstream Australia - and if they aren’t prepared to do that, piss off back where they came from where their attitudes and behaviour are right at home.
Not only Moslems, too. Other ethnic groups, like Serbs and Croats, who bring with them centuries old racial hatreds should be told if they want to continue them here, to fuck off back to Serbia and Croatia or wherever else they came from.

One Response to “Hard to argue with John Howard’s comments on radical Moslems”
The difference with Serbs and Croats being that Howard hasn’t said that certain sections of their communities hold beliefs that are incompatible with Australian culture. Muslims are just a politically popular bugbear. Personally I think what he said was right about some of the more fanatical sections of the muslim community, but exactly the same applies to sections of other immigrant communities and even certain sections of established anglo communities too.
