The Riff-Raff come to Canberra
A case this week in the ACT Magistrates Court shows that the scum of the world come to Canberra. Yes, thats right … Canberra is not the serene middle class (boring) public servant haven many Australians believe. I’ll even go so far as to admit to bogans of our own, and even that they don’t all live over the border in Queanbeyan.
In the court case this week, a 38 year old man was alleged to have beaten to death the 4 year old daughter of his partner. The child, Trinaty Monique Howarth, died in hospital after her mother’s boyfriend allegedly hit her around the head with a saucepan, and then hit her with a stick. This happened in their car, parked outside Bunnings at Tuggeranong in November last year. The boyfriend was charged with Trinaty’s murder, to which he has pleaded not guilty. He was also charged with assaulting his (now former) partner, Alicia Maree Wilson.
It really does escape me what motivates people to do things like this to another person, let alone a small child. All I can say is they are vile scum, and if found guilty at trial, he deserves to never see the outside of a prison.
While this tragedy happened in Canberra, the players were imported bogans. Proof of their boganity comes throughout the story:
- the name Trinaty - intentional, or spelling error?
- the alleged perpetrator, was of “no fixed address”
- they had come from South Australia, having just bought a car …wonder where the money for that came from?
- they came to Canberra to stay with the boyfriend’s brother, but happy families as they are, had an argument with him and got told to fuck off
- they spent the night before the bashing in their car
I reckon I’d also be fairly safe in guessing that long term welfare dependency and substance abuse have played their part in the death of the little girl.

I read that on the plane to Melbourne - I don’t remember hearing anything about it at the time. What made it even sadder (for me) was that the pic with the CT story was her preschool picture - I don’t know why that made it worse, mebbe the fact that she was at least in preschool and stuff - why would her mum take her out of school and pack her up in the car with a psycho…

I am some what linked to this case, as disgusting as it is it has not left my memory and continues to grind on me on a daily basis if I let it. Thankyou for allowing me somewhere to vent as no-one seems to give a shit about this beautiful little girl.
For the last four years I have had the pleasure of sharing the custody of Trinaty’s older half-brother Zac, and the dis-pleasure of having to interact with their mother, Alicia’s side of the family.
I am of no relation to any of the family but through visitations with Zac I knew Trinaty, I knew her mother was a crazy selfish bitch, no drug usage involved as far as I knew, perhaps alcohol, but mostly Alicia’s family was nuts and she chose to continue the crap.
Sorry this is written in very good prose but right now I’m furious again and revolted and sad. I am not a biological relation to Zac, I was his step mother and while I was with his father I ensured his safety to the best of my ability, however I had no say in what happened to Trinaty.
Many authorities here in South Australia was well aware of abuse to both her children, neglect and unstability, at the time she had deserted Zac and not seen him for almost a year after dumping him in our care a couple of years before.
If anyone reads this and knows what happened to that xxxx head, Cassidy, I would dearly love to know as I can not find anything out, and I no longer have contact with anyone in the siutation, including being able to see my Zaccy.
On a final note, we had Canberra CIB in Adelaide investigating the mother, Alicia, whom they obviously had suspicions about. Zac’s father, Alicia’s first partner not Trinaty’s father, was interviewed along with other family members.
The result?? I know she got charged with nothing, even though she knew the man was nuts and they were in Canberra due to getting run out of Loxton, for being a couple of assholes. Alicia received instead a large payout from victims of crime and is walking free as we speak not changed one iota from this whole experience.
For those of us who actually gave a shit and could do no more than we did we are devastated, disgusted and saddened that she will be remembered by this. There is no grave, we attended no funeral, and I know nothing. Thanks again
ps to that stupid anonymous, I am sorry you that you have any of that guys genes in your body and to anyone else in any authority to do with children may her blood be on your hands(Alicia is still entitled to visitation with her son Zachary who would have been there with them had we not kept him home with us)
