A new public holiday???

Seen in the newsletter from my son’s school dated 11 April:

Dear Parents, Students and Staff

I hope and pray that Easter was a peaceful time for you and yours. The good news is that Easter doesn’t finish on Easter Sunday. We are very much still celebrating the Easter Season and we do so until Pentecost.

We were blessed with an inspirational Easter Reflection on Holy Thursday morning. Mrs ***** and her Year 12 Youth Ministry class presented a meaningful and challenging account of what we celebrate as the Easter Triduum - Holy Thursday, Goof Friday and the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday.

Is Goof Friday a new version of April Fools’ day? Or is it to celebrate all your stupid mistakes during the year?
