Payback is a bitch!

The original version of this story was very funny. Later it was updated and the really funny bit doesn’t seem to have actually been the case.

A Californian man tried to kill his girlfriend by leaving her in a car parked across train tracks while a train approached. He then jumped out, but as the train hit the car, it hurled it onto him, killing him. His girlfriend survived. That seems like a Darwin Award nomination is certainly due for Brandon Julius Funches, 21, of South Los Angeles.

However, later reports suggest some doubt about whether he actually tried to get out of the car, or was just thrown from it by the train’s impact and then killed by debris from the car. It may have been a murder-suicide attempt on his part. Still pretty funny, and ironic, that he died and she didn’t, but not quite up there with him dying unintentionally.
