Mmmm …. warm
Yes, yes, I know I am easily amused!
One of the things I find fascinating about Japan is the amazing toilet technology. I mean, a lot of time and effort has been invested at some stage in getting toilet science to the point it is now.
I don’t know how I’ll cope when I go home without the “warm seat” button, especially when winter comes around in Canberra.
Other interesting functionality includes various spray options … I assume the pink button is for girls, the blue for boys, and “powerful deodoriser”.
I remember thinking that it was so disgusting to sit on a warm toilet sit that it couldn’t possibly be pleasant.
BUT.
I would KILL to have one in my home after spending 10 nights in Japan

I would kill to to have one installed in my house, but the bathroom layout in Malaysia usually not good for this type of gadgetry.
I had to think about a heated toilet seat for a while, but I believe it would be worthwhile to try installing one at my house.

That post certainly fits well with your blog title.

I have to say I have always wondered what this would be like on a really cold winters day.
Perhaps they could have another component which goes cold on a hot day?
Or am I being too hopeful?

I’m wondering (since you did not go into to much detail for those of us who have never been to Japan) if one of those snazzy features would aid in an evening of worship to the porcelain god? A heated seat is nice and all, but a cutesy wipe definitely has appeal…….

Page – basically there’s a range of buttons to push, mostly controlling spray jets to wash your bum. So you can control the water temperature and pressure, and there was a pink and blue button, which I think aimed the water differently, to cope with boys and girls being different “down there”. As for their use while praying to the porcelain, I’d say questionable, unless you feel that a faceful of water would help.
Jayne – thats why they have a “powerful deodoriser” button!
I liked the self pouring beer dispensers with the glass that tilted automatically to get the right head.
Colin – yes I was impressed by that. Got to try one in the lounge at Narita on the way out. Just what every house needs.
