Disgusting, evil (eeeeewwwww!!! part 2)

Posted by Ian in crime & punishment, scum of the earth, sex on July 11th, 2008

Yesterday’s post was about something unbelievably disgusting, but here’s another thats on a par with it.

A 26 year old Perth man has been accused of raping a 4 year old girl he was babysitting.

The officer in charge of Western Australia’s Child Protection Squad, Senior Sergeant Gordon Fairman, said the girl had suffered serious injuries “of a sexual nature”.

“Princess Margaret Hospital staff called the police when the girl’s mother took her to casualty yesterday,” he said today.

“She was sedated and examined and then underwent emergency surgery.”

This morning, 26-year-old Stephen John Cracknell appeared in Perth Magistrates Court where he was not required to enter a plea to a charge of aggravated sexual penetration of a child under the age of 13 years.

Capital punishment anyone? Or at least a good daily arse reaming with a large uncomfortable object (something with the texture of a pineapple?) for the next 20 or 30 years.

eeeeeewwwwww!!!!!!!

Posted by Ian in bogans & dickheads, crime & punishment, sex on July 10th, 2008

I’ve read about some pretty awful things but this must take the cake for grossness.

Police say three men (name and shame:Nicholas and Alexander Grunke and Dustin Radke) , carrying shovels, a crowbar and a box of condoms, went to a cemetery in southwestern Wisconsin in 2006 to dig up the body of Laura Tennessen, 20, who had been killed the week before in a motorcycle crash.

Nicholas Grunke had seen an obituary photo of her and asked the others for help digging up her corpse so he could have sexual intercourse with it. Authorities say the men used shovels to reach her grave but were unable to pry open the vault. They fled when a car drove into the cemetery and were eventually arrested.

This has caused some legal wrangling in the state of Wisconsin, after the accused’s lawyers argued that the state’s laws did not outlaw necrophilia. In a 5-2 decision, the high court said Wisconsin law makes sex acts with dead people illegal because they are unable to give consent.

Probably the reason for the lack of specificity in the State’s laws was because no-one contemplated that there would be people sick enough to trawl the obits for suitable dead bodies to screw. This of course ignores one of the fundamental rules of humanity - you name it, someone gets off on it!

Just to be clear about my feelings on this ….. eeeewwwwwww, yuk!

Art vs porn?

Posted by Ian in in the news, sex on July 8th, 2008

The controversy about the use of images of naked children in works of art has been hot in the media this week.

I’m of the view that sexualisation of children is a bad thing and images that serve that purpose are not appropriate. The picture in question is quite a nice photo, but in my view is something that belongs in the family’s own photo albums, not on display in the public domain. I don’t find anything at all sexual in a photo of a 6 year old child, but there are freaks around who do … why give them fodder for their fantasies? Also, I can’t see that children this young are able to give informed consent about the use of their images in the public domain.

Pictures of your children running around nude, or in the bath, or whatever, may be beautiful, and they may capture moments of great joy and fun. Fair enough, enjoy them with your family, even trusted friends. But I just don’t believe, knowing what we know about the presence of sickos in our communities, they are for widespread public consumption.

Now, for the big question - check out the girl (Olympia Nelson)’s father’s shirt and bow tie- art or porn?

Robert Nelson with his daughter Olympia

FYI - possibly NSFW - you can see the picture at the centre of the controversy here.

I’ve got to agree with this priest

Posted by Ian in in the news on July 6th, 2008

Father Peter Confeggi, parish priest at Mount Druitt in Sydney’s weestern suburbs, has criticised the amount of money being spent on World Youth Day this month.

Others within the church have similar concerns about the six-day event, which will cost the church an estimated $150million and NSW taxpayers at least $86million.

Father Confeggi said his parish was one of the most disadvantaged in Sydney. He said the church and state funds could be directed elsewhere, including to the 120,000 people sleeping homeless in Australia or education of the disadvantaged. He said:

“To keep the church doors open here in Mount Druitt we scratch week after week after week,”

“The bottom line is this is a gross embarrassment to the church that I serve.”

and also it was an “utter scandal” that a chalice, Communion plate and vessel to hold Communion hosts - adorned by Argyle diamonds and being made for a rumoured six-figure sum - would be given to the Pope.

He also claimed there was large amount of dissatisfaction” with the spirituality that will be taught during the event, with many fearing it would be a right-wing brand of Catholicism.

I can’t comment on the theology of the Catholic church or World Youth Day, but it does seem to me that it is a shitload of money being spent on it that could be put to much better uses. Huge ceremonies and monument building do not sit well with me as where a church’s priorities should lie.

How to tell if you’re really drunk

Posted by Ian in funny stuff on July 6th, 2008

Now the folks at the ever helpful NSW Office of Liquor and Gaming have produced an ever so useful list of the signs of intoxication. There are 39 of them. They issued these guidelines to club and hotel managers to assist them in fulfilling their responsible service of alcohol responsibilities.

So, here for your enlightenment and education are the 39 signs of being pissed. If you want to avoid being refused service, learn to fake your way around them. Alternatively just drink at one of the 90% plus of bars that don’t worry about RSA too much (after all many of them would go broke if they didn’t serve drunks).

The 39 signs of drunkenness are:

1. Slurring words

2. Rambling or unintelligible conversation

3. Incoherent or muddled speech

4. Loss of train of thought

5. Not understanding normal conversation

6. Difficulty in paying attention

7. Unsteady on feet

8. Swaying uncontrollably

9. Staggering

10. Difficulting walking straight

11. Cannot stand or falling down

12. Stumbling

13. Bumping into or knocking over furniture and people

14. Lack of co-ordination

15. Spilling drinks

16. Dropping drinks

17. Fumbling change

18. Difficulty counting money or paying

19. Difficulty opening doors

20. Inability to find one’s mouth with a glass

21. Rudeness

22. Agression

23. Belligerent

24. Argumentative

25. Offensive

26. Bad tempered

27. Physically violent

28. Loud or boisterous

29. Confused

30. Disorderly

31. Exuberance

32. Using offensive language

33. Annoying or pestering others

34. Overly friendly

35. Loss of inhibition

36. Inappropriate sexual advances

37. Drowsiness or sleeping at a bar or table

38. Vomiting

39. Drinking rapidly

Personally I find #20 the best guide. That, and unconsciousness.

Cheers, and make good use of this valuable guidance.

Now we’re going to get spammed by watermelon farmers

Posted by Ian in science & medicine, sex on July 4th, 2008

Scientists have found that watermelon has effects similar to Viagra. It contains an ingredient called citrulline that can trigger production of a compound that helps relax the body’s blood vessels, similar to what happens when a man takes Viagra, said scientists in Texas.

Found in the flesh and rind of watermelons, citrulline reacts with the body’s enzymes when consumed in large quantities and is changed into arginine, which boosts nitric oxide, which relaxes blood vessels, the same basic effect that Viagra has. According to Bhimu Patel, one of the researchers:

“Watermelon may not be as organ-specific as Viagra, but it’s a great way to relax blood vessels without any drug side effects.”

The nitric oxide can also help with angina, high blood pressure and other cardiovascular problems, according to the study, which was paid for by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Only one slight problem: you would need to eat about six cups of watermelon to get enough citrulline to boost the body’s arginine level.

I can see a few downsides in using watermelon as a natural substitute for Viagra:

  • having to munch through a large hunk of watermelon might kill the mood
  • its a lot messier than taking a small tablet
  • shipping watermelons by mail order is much harder than pills
  • storing a decent supply of watermelons could be tricky
  • I don’t want to be hassled at the markets by dodgy characters trying to sell me black market watermelons.

Getting a head start in IT

Posted by Ian in geekery, in the news on July 3rd, 2008

Information technology students at universities are outsourcing assignments to cheap code cutters in places like India.

Typically, assignments are put out to tender on the internet sites and coders bid to complete them.Students can pay anywhere from under $100 to several hundred dollars, depending on the amount of work required.

Universities are finding it hard to combat the practice. Part of the problem, said Paul Compton, head of the school of computer science and engineering at the University of New South Wales, was that existing automated plagiarism detection tools, such as Turn It In, can’t detect outsourced work. They could only tell if multiple students submitted highly similar assignments or if a piece of work had passages copied from the internet.

IT companies, on the other hand, most likely see students who outsource their work as potential future management material. The business is highly globalised, with offshoring to places like India, China and Latin America very prevalent. Such initiative from students is simply giving them early experience with using low cost countries to supply cheap resources to perform work.

Posted by Ian in funny stuff on July 2nd, 2008

Sorry, don’t have a photo, so I’ll just have to tell you about it.

Saw a car this morning, with personalised plates saying RICK.

It had L plates. Can’t wait to see how they handle it when they get their P(rovisional) license!
