Crazy?

Posted by Ian in my stuff, sport on January 26th, 2009

Looking for something interesting to do for a couple of hours yesterday, I discovered that the 2009 Australian National Mountain Bike (MTB) Championships were on here in Canberra, at Stromlo Forest Park.

The guys (and girls) who do this, especially the downhill, have got to be crazy.  Not in a million years would I charge down a hill over rocks and shit at 70 km/h!

Cool – listen to Neko Case and help animals

Posted by Ian in entertainment on January 26th, 2009

Those of you who have read my blog for a while will know I’m a huge fan of Neko Case, the American alt-country singer.  She has a new record coming out in March which I’m looking forward too.  “Middle Cyclone” is her follow up to the wonderful “Fox Confessor Brings the Flood”.

I recommend having a listen to her song “People Gotta Lot of Nerve” which is from her forthcoming record.

But not only that, if you download the song and blog about it, Neko and her record label, Anti, will donate $5 to the animal welfare organisation, Best Friends.

Great idea, I think.  So if you like cute furry animals, and great music, here’s a chance to help the animals, and yourself to some good music.

Thanks to Snarkydork, who I found this via.
