Not me says Pauline

Over the weekend, some nude photos surfaced which were claimed to have been of Pauline Hanson, the former One Nation leader and redneck favourite.  She is also currently a candidate in the Queensland state election.

Hanson denies the pictures are of her.   In fact she denies just about everything about them, including not knowing the man who claimed to be a former boyfriend, not having been to the hotel where the shots were supposedly taken, not having worked where he claimed to have met her, being married and just had a child at the time they were claimed to have been taken, and says she had longer hair at the time than the woman in the photographs.

In an offer to prove its not her in the pictures, Ms Hanson has offered to show her belly button – which she says is different to the woman’s in the photos.

Thank God the distinguishing feature wasn’t a tattoo on her arse or tit, or a piercing or anything like that.

More adventures from the wild, wild west

The bogans of Sydney’s western suburbs live lives which are sometimes just mind-boggling.

What do you do when your neighbour complains to you about your dog’s barking?

Stab him to death, of course.  Perfectly reasonably response in the mind of a bogan loser.

In the early hours of January 27, 2007, Joseph Durrant, 47, was on his way home from a party when he made a comment about his neighbour’s dog.  The dog’s owner, Katrina Megan Whitmore, 26, threatened Mr Durrant and then physically attacked him over his comments.  Whitmore’s brother Frederick Reyon Whitmore, 35, and her partner Steven Spiro Sotiropoulos, 34, allegedly joined in the fracas in Phyllis Street, Mt Pritchard, and Mr Durrant was fatally stabbed.

There was a witness.  However just to add to the richness of this episode of life and death in the bogan reaches of outer Sydney suburbia, the defence barrister claimed that his evidence was unreliable because the self-confessed former drug addict had admitted to being drunk and high on ice and ecstasy at the time of the incident.  The witness, Adam Duncan, also said he may not have slept in days and that while on ice he sometimes had difficulty differentiating between fact and fiction.

"I was tripping on drugs, but I’m pretty sure I saw the handle (of the knife),"

said Mr Duncan

In his other evidence at the trial of Katrina Whitmore and Steven Sotiropoulos, Duncan had these things to say:

"I didn’t notice it straight away, but when she was coming down (the drive) I seen the knife,"

"I seen Fred and (Sotiropoulos) kicking the guy and Katrina was standing behind the guy (who was) on the ground trying to get up.”

"She was kicking him too, but I couldn’t remember what they were saying.”

"He got up (and I’m) pretty sure Katrina stabbed him in the neck and Fred and (Sotiropoulos) took off and she went running up the street behind them.

"I was freaking out a bit so I just took off."

Reliable witness, not!  Not to mention a poor advertisement for good grammar.

I trust the police have got more evidence than Mr Duncan’s statements.  I have a feeling they’ll need it.
