The result, boobage overflowing at the top of the dress.  The term “Squoobs” has been coined to describe this, short for “squashed boobs”.  Looks fine to me, but I’d imagine its damn uncomfortable.

I’m listening to Hunters & Collectors – Tender

Knowing nothing about Isabelle Blais, I googled her, and found that as well as being a very good actor, she also sings in a band called Caiman Fu.

I think this is a pretty decent song, for one or more of these reasons:

1. it actually does sound good
2. Isabelle Blais is a very cute lady
3. it is in French so by definition sounds good.

For instance, in Argentina, it’s basically porn.  Cinthia Fernandez in a recent episode starts the dance off in a racy outfit with her toga-clad partner. It’s some sort of Roman orgy scene, but with only two people. What follows is less of a dance and more of a mutual strip tease, where Fernandez and her partner pull off each others clothes revealing skimpier and skimpier outfits while they writhe and contort around the stage. By the time she is grinding in his lap while he pours wine over her naked body she’s only wearing a G-string and he’s in his Speedos , then finally he whips off her panties and she is standing there, on national television, completely naked. (For your viewing pleasure, this link has a video of the “dance” – you probably shouldn’t watch it if you’re at work).

Then we have the US version, with accidental nipple exposure, and shock, horror, a fart!

Why is ours so boring, then?

Went to Sydney and back today to see “Mary Poppins” at the Capitol Theatre.  Didn’t actually plan to go until yesterday – I was a late substitute for my wife who couldn’t go (with my daughter and niece).  Even though it wasn’t really a show I’d normally choose to go see, I enjoyed it very much, and it was a high quality production.

SBS TV is making a series which is obviously a bit too close to home for some of the fine residents of Mt Druitt, in Sydney’s western suburbs.  Called “Housos”, it is about the lives of housing commission residents living the suburban nightmare.

This week residents from a Department of Housing block in western Sydney got thousands of signatures on a petition calling on SBS to abandon the series.  Local MP Richard Amery, who presented the petition in Parliament last week, said the series would ”deride decent people”.  They also had federal member of Parliament, Ed Husic, on the case:

”Everyone likes a laugh but Housos seems to be labelling a particular type of person in a particular type of way and making fun of a situation they are in,’

Well, they are bogans, and if we can’t deride them, who can we?  We have to have our little victories now, before the bogans take over.

You know you’re a bogan if you let your 15-year-old daughter smoke at the dinner table – in front of her kids.

Well done, Andrew. 

However, I see she was in Sydney last week, at the launch of a shopping centre, MidCity.  Reportedly she was paid a $200,000 fee for this, plus a whole swag of goodies, first class fares to Australia and her hotel suite which brought the total cost of her visit to around $300,000.  Nice work if you can get it I suppose.

Myself, I think its a sad reflection on our society, and the cult of celebrity that someone would see spending this sort of money on a B-grade celebrity with little in the way of actual achievements to justify her celebrity status, as worthwhile.  Nevertheless, MidCity project manager Sam Sproats said the co-owners were "absolutely chuffed" with the results.

"The whole thing has been fantastic and we’ve got far more in PR value than we expected,"

Mr Sproats said.  Its also rather sad that quite a crowd turned out to see her.  To them I’d say save your hero worship for someone worthwhile.

Violence plus – yep.  Crude language – yep.  Smut – yep.  Great fun – sure!
